Where Is Carhartt Made?

Find out how Carhartt is made and what their production looks like.

Carhartt is made in two primary locations, right here in the United States for their “Made in USA” line and Mexico. The U.S. made line features some of the most iconic pieces that the brand has to offer and gets its main influence from American industrial workers.

Details About Carhartt Production.

With all designing of products happening in Dearborn, Michigan, Carhartt has a long standing tradition of being a prideful American garment producer in the midst of a world of outsourced goods and clothing, where only 2% of the apparel purchased in the U.S. is actually made here. Keeping their roots alive, Carhartt has made 57 million garments here in the U.S. in its 131 years.

The U.S. made products can be found in Kentucky and Tennessee across four different facilities, where attention to detail is still the main priority across the assortment of products the brand has to offer. Hand sewn detailing, improved technologies, and the everlasting impression across its vast audience is what Carhartt brings to the table time and time again. The company sources from a variety of U.S. suppliers, such as Mt. Vernon Mills located in Georgia for fabric, and YKK Snaps and Fasteners for hardware in Kentucky, among others.

Going back in time we get a good sense of Carhartt’s deep American tradition of manufacturing and production, with their pieces being made in initial factories in Dallas, Atlanta and Detroit. Eventually, factories in Vancouver, Liverpool and Paris opened by the year 1925 to cater to an expanding global need of workwear overseas. With a lineage that spans from the late 1800s in US made production, Carhartt has kept its core alive with elements that scream durability and timelessness.
